Lo Spazio di Mezzo is a place of Sino-Italian cultural exchange, born from the desire of Chinese students and scholars in Turin, together with other Chinese and Italian associations, to offer the city of Turin their commitment to activate cultural initiatives and in which new opportunities for cultural coexistence can be experimented. The activity selected by the Fondazione per l’Architettura di Torino to participate in the Bottom Up! Architecture Festival dedicated to the transformation of the city from below, including a crowdfunding campaign (April-November 2020) and has received a contribution from the Compagnia di San Paolo through the Rincontriamoci call for proposals intended for cultural and civic institutions dedicated to a specific territory or community, characterized by a strong relationship with those who frequent them (July 2020), as well as a further contribution from IREN .

The five proposing associations will carry out activities of meeting, listening, study, conferences, screenings, exhibitions and other cultural activities.

The opportunity created by this place is that of a free space for comparison, which makes it possible to understand the other, through a multiplication of real space also on digital platforms.

The group of proposing cultural associations shares an interest in intercultural dialogue. atelier mobile , CSSA and China Room present a common educational path and experiences of collaboration between Italian and Chinese students and scholars, Zhisong and Babelica are realities active directly in the territory.
